How do escalations work?
For leave requests to be escalated, you need to have two or more managers setup under the team when it has been created.you will need to assign the managers a priority number, all requests from their team will go to the lowest number first. If a request has been sent to the first manager and hasn't been dealt with within the escalation period it will be sent to the manager with the next priority.

The delay between managers for escalation is a period of time that the first manager has to approve or decline the request they have been given. If they fail to do this within the escalation period, it will be sent to next manager on the list.
For example, if you have two managers on a team and an employee requests leave, the lowest priority manager will receive a notification regarding this request. They will have a determined period of time to see and review this request. If they have not acknowledged it within the given time period, the next manager will receive a notification about the request.

HR Administrators fit into escalation as being where leave requests get sent to from managers requesting leave. They are also responsible for dealing with leave that has gone through all levels of escalation without a response.

Craig: I would add more detail into these, you have the essence of it right but you'll need to explain more about how the delays work between escalations and probably give 1-2 different examples, you should also discuss how HR Admins fit into that process too. And some pictures so it's clear. Maybe we rename this to How do escalations work as it applies to both leave requests and timesheet (I think), is there an option to handle it differently?
